Tony Blackwell and Dianne
Scott have invested time, energy
and money in the Catawba
College Center for the Environment and
its causes.
Scott, executive director of Rowan
Helping Ministries, is a charter member
of Rowan County’s Sustainable Community
Development Commission and Air
Quality Commission, and Blackwell, senior
vice president of SunTrust Bank, has
served as an advocate with his bank in supporting
the Center’s Clean Air Initiative.
In fact, SunTrust – then Central Carolina
Bank – was the fi rst fi nancial institution
to support the initiative to educate people
about the causes of air pollution and promote
ways to clean up the air. (More)
