Earth Night Out Participants Make Commitment to Clean Air

A number of people who attended the Earth Night Out in Downtown Salisbury April 16 left the event with signed commitment cards that listed things they plan to do to help clean up the air.
Members of the Center for the Environment’s staff and Green Education Outreach (GEO) student team oversaw a booth with information on the Center and its Campaign for Clean Air, an initiative designed to educate citizens in Rowan and Cabarrus counties and empower them to take action to address the air quality issues the region faces.
The Center staff also displayed a battery-powered lawn mower, which emits no toxic fumes, and offered discount coupons worth more than $100 off the purchase price of the lawn mower.
