The Center for the Environment's Fourth Annual Ugly Bug Ball was held Friday, October 2, from 6:30 p.m. to midnight at the Center facility. The popular fund-raiser offered a festive evening of dinner, entertainment and dancingto the sounds of Steve Etters' 18-piece Salisbury Swing Band.
Participants enjoyed a farm-fresh dinner to the music of Paul Oakley and his Quartet and dancing to the Sweet Dreams Dance Band, a group that plays everything from beach and shag music to disco and pop. Deserts were provided by Debbie Suggs and Coffee Service was provided by Tastebuds.
"Whether you wanted to dance, talk or just listen, there was be something for everyone," says John Wear, the Center's Executive Director.
Additional activities included a Silent Auction featuring Original Works by Plein Air artists & pottery by Brent Smith
The proceeds from this year's Ball support the ongoing activities of the Center, value-added education for Catawba students and the Center's outreach to the region, including its Campaign for Clean Air.
