The Center for the Environment will offer a free Gas Cap Check Saturday, April 2, during Live It Up Cabarrus festivities, an annual event to encourage healthy living and to strengthen ties to nutritious, locally produced food. The event will be held from 2-5 p.m. at Frank Liske Park in Concord.

Video - Clay Ballantine: Health Effects of Air Pollution

Dr. Clay Ballantine, an Asheville physician and nationally recognized expert on the health effects of air pollution, spoke as part of the Clean Air Initiatives lectures coordinated by Catawba College's Center for the Environment. Drawing on scores of medical studies showing the link between air pollution and respiratory ailments, Ballantine makes a solid case for making the reduction of air pollution a priority at local, state, and national levels.
