EnviroMingles hosted by the Center for the Environment
Upcoming EnviroMingles
Currently there are no events.
Each of the Center for the Environment's EnviroMingles have brought over 100 people together to network and build relationships. “We had a vast array of different organizations and individuals at the event who would like to partner with the Center on everything from clean air and a virtual farmers’ market to healthy food and green design,” says John Wear, the Center’s executive director.
City leaders and representatives from Castle & Cooke, the Research
Campus, and the Chamber of Commerce mingled with business owners and
staff from the Center for the Environment. Mothers who have a keen
interest in buying
local produce for their families talked to bankers who know that dirty
air has economic implications. Doctors who treat people with respiratory
diseases talked to business people who are working to make their
companies energy-efficient.
“We wanted to bring together all the people who
have worked as volunteers, who have given their time and money to
support the Center’s activities,” said Executive Director John Wear. “We
also wanted to bring together those who might want to learn more about
our work.
“People shared their ideas with us and learned more
about the Center,” Wear said. “And I think everybody had a really good
time getting to know others who share common values.”
